Mountain Signage

Grouse Mountain uses a variety of signage to assist you in navigating your mountaintop activities. These signs are in place to communicate important information such as ability level, potential hazards and terrain status. Please familiarize yourself with the following Mountain signage and obey all posted signs during your visit.

RUN SIGNAGE

Grouse Mountain recommends all Skiers and Riders enjoying Grouse Mountain for the first time begin with a green run and work their way up to more difficult terrain. The green circle, blue square, black diamond and double black diamond rating system may have a different degree of difficulty at another resort.

	“Merge” signs are placed where two ski runs intersect. When merging onto another trail look uphill to avoid collision with others.
	Slow signs are placed in high traffic areas such as learning zones and the end of ski runs. Fast skiing is prohibited. Fast, reckless skiing will result in the loss of skiing and riding privileges.
	“Caution” signs are placed uphill of a hazard or blind spot. Adjust speed and approach the area with caution.
	“Closed” signs are placed at the top of closed runs. Closed means closed! Guests skiing/riding on closed runs or “ducking rope lines” will lose their skiing and riding privileges.
	“Marginal Conditions” signs are placed at the top of runs which contain limited snow but remain open. Skiers and riders should expect unmarked hazards such as rocks, grass, dirt and running water. Skiers and Riders must exercise extra caution when using runs marked with marginal conditions signs.
	“No Walking on Ski Runs” signs are placed on ski runs that are accessible from the plaza. Foot traffic is not allowed on ski runs and restricted to designated walking routes.

The use of ski area premises and facilities and participation in activities at ski areas involves various risks, dangers and hazards. It is a condition of your use of the premises and facilities and your participation in these activities that you assume all risk of personal injury, death or property loss resulting from any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract, or breach of any duty of care on the part of the ski area operator. Your legal responsibility as a user of the ski area premises and facilities or participant in activities at the ski area is explained in the following notice, which you will see posted at the ski area.
