November 10, 2009, Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver, B.C. – Grouse Mountain's 8,000 square foot ice skating pond opens at noon on Wednesday, November 11, for winter enthusiasts to glide in the fresh mountain air. The skate pond offers visitors of all ages the unique experience of ice skating on top of a mountain. Come up for a romantic evening for two or a fun-filled day with the kids.

Located in front of the Peak Chalet, the Grouse Mountain Skating Pond is the only one of its kind on the West Coast. The outdoor skating pond has grown overwhelmingly popular since its introduction in the 1997/98 season. Skate rentals for all sizes are available for visitors. Access to the Ice Skating Pond is complimentary with your Grouse Mountain Admission, Membership, Winter Pass, or Lift Ticket.

Snow enthusiasts will soon be able to put on their goggles at Grouse Mountain as the city begins to look ahead to an exciting winter season. The brief arrival of snow and significant drop in temperature come at a time when Grouse Mountain is readying for the spectacular annual Peak of Christmas festivities (November 28 to December 24), and anticipating guests from around the world during the Winter Olympic Games.
