Grouse Mountain celebrates the 24 Hours of Winter
Stay on the slopes from sundown to sunrise

(North Vancouver) With the 2014 Olympic Games slated to launch halfway across the world in Sochi, Russia, Grouse Mountain is excited to host its annual 24 Hours of Winter celebration taking place Saturday, February 8th through Sunday, February 9th followed by special Family Day festivities at the Peak of Vancouver on Monday, February 10th.
Kicking off Saturday at 8:00 am and running through 10:00 pm on Sunday, 24 Hours of Winter features all-night skiing, snowboarding and ice skating, sunrise snowshoe tours, a spectacular torch parade, a junior pond hockey tournament, a night-long dance party at Altitudes Bistro presented by Red Bull, ziplining and much more.
For those looking to test their snowshoe fitness or simply get outside for a brisk morning walk, Grouse Mountain’s annual Snowshoe Grind Challenge returns at 10:00 am on Sunday, February 9th for participants of all ages and fitness abilities.
Capping off the long weekend in true Grouse Mountain family-friendly fashion, the Peak of Vancouver is excited to celebrate British Columbia’s second-annual Family Day on Monday, February 10th with 50 percent off lift tickets and general admission. Family Day will feature a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including a pancake breakfast by donation with all proceeds supporting North Shore Rescue in memory of Tim Jones, family photos, snowshoe tours, a scavenger hunt, the Global BC Puck Shootout and many more complimentary activities suitable for all ages.
“We fondly remember the very early mornings here throughout February 2010 and while NBC will not be here this time around, we are thrilled to welcome British Columbia to our slopes next weekend for round-the-clock fun during our 24 Hours of Winter festivities,” said general manager Michael Cameron. “Concluding a very eventful weekend, Family Day is the perfect opportunity for British Columbians to spend quality time with their loved ones by experiencing the wide variety of winter activities we have here at the Peak of Vancouver.”
