We are very saddened to report that our oldest wolf Omega passed away early this morning. He was discovered deceased at first light within the Grouse Mountain wolf habitat where he and his pack mates found sanctuary. At 15 & 1/2 years old, Omega lived to be one of the oldest wolves in the world. Omega was born in captivity in 1998 and retired from the movie industry. He came to live with the rest of his pack at Grouse Mountain in 2004.

We will greatly miss hearing the early morning wolf howls of Omega as he alerted all within range of his presence. We are comforted to know that Omega lived a long, comfortable and stimulating life under our care, and that he inspired a respect and awe for wolves in thousands of people.

Omega will have a full autopsy and be cremated at the Animal Health Centre in Abbotsford, BC. I wish to express my deepest heartfelt sympathy to all those who will miss seeing him and knowing he was there.

Sincerely
