Kathryn Loves Grouse Mountain because...

My beautiful niece Lauren was born in late April with a rare metabolic disorder that went undiagnosed and kept her in BC Children's hospital for 8 weeks. At one point the hospital staff prepared the family to say goodbye, but Lauren was a fighter. She refused to give up and so myself and her other auntie, affectionately known as "the crazie aunties", were inspired to challenge ourselves to taking on the Grouse Grind. We took Lauren up the Grind and in our hearts we knew that, as long as she was in hospital fighting for her life, we could take on this challenge and any other. We both made it to the top of the Grind and are now pass holders and regulars up the mountain. Lauren was diagnosed and discharged from BC Children's and will now live a long and happy life. This year I heart Grouse Mountain for encouraging people to fundraise for BC Children's. Thank you to all who Grind for BC kids and support those who Grind!
