(North Vancouver) After an amazing 19-hour day on the Grouse Grind®, Grouse Mountain is thrilled to announce that the Multi-Grouse Grind® Challenge has raised over $34,000 in support of the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

A new female record was set at this year’s Multi-Grouse Grind Challenge event as Brooke Spence completed a total of 17 Grouse Grinds during the event. This also ties the overall record of 17 Grouse Grinds in one day set at last year’s event.

This year’s top male finisher was Andrew Hanlon with 15 Grouse Grinds completed over the 19-hour period.

As the only sanctioned event to determine the record-holder for most ascents of the Grouse Grind in a one-day period, the Multi-Grouse Grind Challenge saw a record 63 athletes seek their personal best while raising valuable funds for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

At the end of a long day on Mother Nature’s Stairmaster, the 63 participants hiked a collective total of 507 Grouse Grinds® in the 19-hour period.

“We’re excited to see participation in the Multi-Grouse Grind Challenge grow year after year as people look to set a personal best in support of BC Children’s Hospital,” said Julia Grant, Grouse Mountain’s Communications Manager. “All the athletes who participated should be incredibly proud of their accomplishment as well as the funds raised for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
