Karen Magnussen Ice Skate

Grouse Mountain supports the Karen Magnussen Foundation’s skate development program by hosting a series of skate lessons taught by former World and Olympic Skate Champion Karen Magnussen, as well as an Ice Show featuring Karen, other International and National champion skaters, and members of the North Shore Winter Club. 

“Grouse Mountain is happy to partner with the Karen Magnussen foundation on this fantastic event” says General Manager, Michael Cameron. “With the world spotlight on Vancouver only two years away, we support the foundation’s mission to grow more world class skaters from a younger age.” The foundation aims to put more of BC’s youth on the world stage in the years to come. 

Skate lessons are available for all levels and are free of charge. Partial proceeds from skate rentals will be donated to the Karen Magnussen Foundation. On December 16th, a flurry of skaters take the ice for an exciting show orchestrated to music and MC’ed by Karen’s husband. 

Lessons: Dec. 8, 16, 22 

Session 1: 1pm-2pm 

Session 2: 4pm-5pm 

Autographs and photos with Karen: 2:30-3:30 

Ice Show: Dec. 16 5:30pm-6:15pm 

This event is a new addition to Grouse Mountain’s Peak of Christmas Celebrations and is sure to become a holiday tradition.
