It's Time To Ski And Ride!

North Vancouver, B.C. – The announcement that eager skiers and riders have been waiting for has arrived! Grouse Mountain is pleased to announce we are kicking off our 86th winter season today, Tuesday November 13, from 3pm to 10pm. The first Skyride of the day for skiers and riders will be at 2:45pm. For this initial day, Paradise Bowl and a jib park will be accessible via the Greenway but the forward looking forecast from Environment Canada is calling for additional snow later this week. This great prediction combined with Grouse Mountain’s excellent snowmaking and grooming means that more terrain should become available soon. From Wednesday onward, we will be open from 9am to 10pm seven days a week for skiing and riding.

“Mother Nature delivered us a great present this past weekend with over 30 centimetres of new snow and that combined with our substantial snowmaking has allowed us to provide an early start to the winter season", says Grouse Mountain General Manager Michael Cameron. "We know our Passholders and winter enthusiasts have been itching to get out on the slopes and we want to ensure we provide as many days at the Peak of Vancouver as possible this season. Initially, terrain will be limited but this is still a great opportunity to get out in the snow and play around. For park riders, we will have four rails available within the Paradise Bowl".

Last season, Grouse Mountain also had an early start and one of the longest seasons on record with skiing and riding late into spring. The forecast for the upcoming season once again looks promising and Grouse Mountain expects to have an equally epic season for skiers, riders and snowshoers. Until more terrain becomes available lift tickets will be discounted to General Admission pricing.

Grouse Mountain has 212 acres of skiable terrain and visitors have been flocking to our slopes since our first official season in 1926 to enjoy the best in downhill sports. With 26 ski and snowboard runs, 14 night runs, 4 chairlifts, a Magic Carpet, 2 terrain parks plus the Cut Jump Line, 10km of snowshoe trails and the North Shore's most extensive snowmaking system, Grouse Mountain is the city's playground, with an average snow fall amount of 9.7 meters or 31.8 feet.
