(North Vancouver) Grouse Mountain has concluded yet another memorable, fun-filled 24 Hours of Winter and Family Day long weekend. Bluebird skies for the first two days and fresh snow on Family Day Monday couldn't have worked out better. To top it all off, Grouse Mountain is pleased to announce that the resort has made a $5,000 contribution to the Tim Jones Memorial Fund benefiting North Shore Rescue.

With 12 centimetres of new snow at Grouse Mountain on top of a week of outstanding snowmaking in cold temperatures, the resort’s annual 24 Hours of Winter and Family Day festivities saw thousands of visitors celebrate the snow season, with all-night skiing and snowboarding, ice skating, snowshoeing, ziplining, dining, and plenty of family-friendly activities making the Peak of Vancouver the ideal place to spend British Columbia’s second-annual Family Day long weekend.

Among the many events including the After Dark Party presented by Red Bull, Park Jam, Torch Parade and Pond Hockey Tournament, Grouse Mountain held its annual free Family Day Pancake Breakfast. With Grouse Mountain matching breakfast donations, $1,500 was raised by visitors to the pancake event with Grouse Mountain topping up the total to $5,000. As with all donations to the Tim Jones Memorial Fund, Grouse Mountain’s contribution will directly assist in funding the day-to-day operations of North Shore Rescue.

“This was just an amazing weekend of fun and excitement” said Grouse Mountain general manager Michael Cameron. “We are so pleased to be able to add to the legacy fund in the name of Tim Jones. It is fitting that the monies were raised on Family Day because the rescue team is a tight-knit group and we are glad to support them in continuing Tim Jones' legacy.”
